Plant Based Oils & Butters that we use in our soaps
Soft Oils

Avocado Oil - Expeller pressing (cold pressing) of the avocado fruit flesh. An ultra conditioning oil that is rich in vitamins A, B, D, and has high levels of Oleic and Linoleic fatty acids. I love the moisturizing results of this oil in our soap!

Castor Oil - Expeller pressed from the bean of the Ricinus Communis, a tropical perennial shrub. It's a humectant, which draws moisture to the skin and creates an amazing lather in soap. There is nothing quite like it! Used in all of our soap recipes

Hazelnut Oil - Pressed from the nuts of the Corylus Avellana, a deciduous shrub commonly grown in many countries around the world. It has a lightweight texture and creates a conditioning and small lather.
Olive Oil - Cold pressed from the flesh of the Olive fruit. Results in a very conditioning lather- almost always our #1 ingredient in our soap recipes!

Rice Bran Oil - Extracted from the bran (outer coating) of the brown rice grain. This is a mild oil that is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, essential oils and antioxidants from the Vitamin E family. It can give soap a sheen too, making it look less dull.

Hard Oils & Butters

Cocoa Butter - A solid, off-white butter that is extracted from the beans of the Theobroma Cacao plant. It adds a luxurious and moisturizing feeling to cold process soap and a stable & creamy lather.

Coconut Oil - Cold pressed from the fruit meat of the coconut palm seeds. It probably takes top spot as the most used soap making oil because it produce lovely large & frothy bubbles..... but it is super cleansing. We use it in limited amounts
Mango Butter - Pressed from the seed kernel of the Mangifera Indica, a tropical evergreen tree indigenous to India and Malaysia. Adds luxurious conditioning and moisturizing values.

Palm Kernel Flakes - Obtained from the kernels, taken from the cracked nuts of the palm tree. Creates a hard bar. Very similar to Coconut oil. This is used in our recipes that cater to those with coconut allergies.
Palm Oil - Cold pressed from the fruit of the palm tree. Palm Oil has been one of the top soap making oils for many years but with the increasing problem of deforestation and the destruction of habitats, it has become imperative that we, as consumers of this oil, do our best to ensure that we are not part of the problem. When used, this oil is added to our Vegan recipes in order to create a harder bar. It also produces a very nice stable and conditioning lather. Our supplier only offers Responsibly sourced Palm (RSPO)

Sal (Shorea) Butter - Obtained from the fruit of the Sal tree (Shorea Robusta) in India. It has moisturizing properties in soap that are very similar to Shea Butter.

Shea Butter - Expeller pressed from the Shea nut. Rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, this oil forms a breathable barrier on your skin that helps to protect it from harsh elements . High in vitamin and mineral content.
